Anjou:
The
red wines of the Loire are singular in their characteristics. Late
ripening due to the northern location and proximity to the ocean.
The Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are located
where the soil's high iron content contributes to the rich structure,
flavor and longevity of the wines.
Cepage:
Cabernet Franc
About
the Producer: Domaine Chupin was established during
the reign of Napoleon III and are the eighth generation to cultivate
this vineyard. It is a family vineyard with vines having a
median age of 35 years, accounting for much of the depth and complexity
of the wine. The grapes are vinified according to traditional
methods.
Tasting
Notes: Like its sisters in Chinon and Bourgueil,
this wine wears a lovely deep ruby color with forward aromas of
ripe fruits combined with the signature herbaceousness of northern
cabernets -harmoniously - to exhibit a well-balanced fruited
flavor with round tannins.
Recommended
Food Pairings:
This is an exceptionally versatile table wine. Enjoy lightly
chilled with Red meats, potages, and cheeses.
