Pinot
Grigio:
The Pinot Grigio is a high quality fragrant wine, full of flavour.
The gravelly soils and clumate moderated by the nearby Adriatic
Sea result in wonderfully frangrant and flavorful wines. Its
colour is straw yellow featuring greenish hues. The scent is delicate
with nuances of flowers and fruit. It recalls Bartlett pears, bananas,
and acacia flowers enveloped by a slight scent of fresh apricots.
Intriguing taste with flavors of pear nectar and cinnamon. Good
acid/alcohol balance with a long fruity finish.
Varietal:
Pinot Grigio. Genetically
related to the Pinot Bianco, which is one of the highest quality
grapes in the world.
Tasting
Notes:
Fuller and riper than many pinot grigios, this wine boasts bright
acidity, clean, light fruit and limestone minerality. The bouquet
defines good Grigio: forward scents of peach, melon, flowers, cream
and spice. The flavors burst with ripe peach, melon, citrus
and pear-like fruit with the underlying creamy texture of Pinot
Grigio. The finish is crisp and minerallly clean with spice nuances
ligering very nicely. This wine shows a rich character with reminiscent
of pear William, banana, and acacia flowers wrapped in a slight
scent of fresh apricot. Intriguing taste with pleasant flavors of
pear syrup and quince peels. Good acid/alcohol balance with a long
fruity finish.
