Muscadet Sevre et Maine:
This wine is
delicious! The Muscadet grape (a.k.a. Melon de Bourgogne) is widely
grown in and around the city of Nantes on the Atlantic Coast , but
produces its best wines in the hilly Sèvre et Maine vineyard
region. Muscadet is at its best when vinified sur lie.
That is, the wine is left in contact with the spent yeast cells,
or lees, after the fermentation is complete. This traditional vinification
process yields wines with a greater degree of richness and complexity.
Isabelle David-Moreau makes a spectacularly good wine from her family's
35-year-old Muscadet vines. Produced in the Loire Valley
near Nantes, Muscadet is unique among white wines. It is made
from the Melon de Bourgogne grape - one that is relatively light
compared to its Chardonnay and Sauvignon sisters.

aperitif and a perfect companion for fresh seafood.
First and foremost: Oysters and Seafood! The crisp, citrusy aspect
of the wine truly complements these foods. Also pairs well
with fish, salads, and cheeses.
It is a truly scintillating refresher that will maintain its lively
style.
