Alignan
du Vent, near Pezenas, in Languedoc is a village of 1200
inhabitants set in the heart of vineyards. The village is said to
take its name from a veteran of the seventh Roman legion, "Alinianum",
who built a villa on the land he probably received from the emperor
as a reward for his services. Despite the relative decline in agricultural
activities, Alignan du Vent has neither renounced its past nor lost
its soul and remains a lively and proud village. Vines cover the
greatest part of its territory and their roots plunge deep into
a mixture of clay and pebbles.

About
the Wine: This Syrah is grown in the gravelly, clay

is cooler, sorted and pressed then racked cold. The wine is
vinified in vats for 3 weeks then aged in tanks for 8 months in
order to optimize the flavors and structure of the wine.
