Montravel:
The white wines of Montravel, an appellation east of the town of
Bergerac, represent a great study in soil and wine. The Sauvignon
Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle vineyards are located on the banks
of the Dordogne River, where the soil's high iron content contributes
to the rich structure, flavor and longevity of the wines. The blending
of these grapes represents the standard of Bordeaux and Entre Deux
Mers white wines. To obtain more intensity and complexity in their
wine, they grow sauvignon the chalky soil on the top of the hill.
A very appealing- wine for all seasons!

Tasting
Notes: The
bouquet shows peach, pear and melon scents along with smoky, citrusy,
floral and herbal nuances. The flavors are zesty and bright with
a minerally-clean freshness that defines good Montravel (and White
Bordeaux). The palate-pleasing peach and melon fruit elements are
enhanced by nuances of pear, herbs and smoky spice. The finish is
dry and clean with an intriguing twist of citrus and spice..
Very balanced and versatile.
