Vin de Pays de Cotes du Ceressou

The Cotes du Ceressou is located in Languedoc - an area long known for producing some of the best red wines in the world - deeply aromatic, complex but very approachable red wines. This region is located in the eastern sector of Languedoc where the clay and sand soil is perfectly adapted to the creation of fine wines.

Cepages: 50% Merlot, 30% Grenache and 20% Syrah

About the Producer: The Jany family has been producing wine in Languedoc since 1792.  The Condamine-Bertrand vineyard extends over 70 hectares bathed in a Mediterranean climate.  Near Beziers, this vineyard has been receiving accolades for many years - recognition for being among the 1000 best wines of France as well as the 100 best Vins de Pays of France.

Tasting Notes: This 2009 red has a brilliant, deep ruby color. The exuberant nose is of juicy black cherry, cocoa, blackberry, cassis and exotic spices. These scents interweave effortlessly with the flavors of luscious fruits, sun-baked lavender and allspice.

Recommended Food Pairings:  Pleasing Rhone and Bordeaux wine lovers alike, this is a very 'people and food friendly' wine which pairs exceptionally well with beef, lamb, duck, fowl, and cheeses, whether the meats are simply roasted or grilled, or served with sauces.
