| Beaujolais
Villages:
Here is a Beaujolais of prestige and interest. This
is a medium bodied, rich red originating in the hilly midsection
of the Beaujolais region where the rocky soil provides sufficient
adversity to better structure the resulting grapes. The wines have
a concentrated flavor and structure, and can be allowed to age for
several years.

About
the Producer: The
Rodier Family has long been a well-established family in Dijon.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Etienne Rodier became a wine-merchant.
Etienne had a fine palate and developed a highly respected reputation
in Burgundy. He died fairly young and his son, Camille Rodier,
who created the famous Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin
, took over. The wines from Etienne Rodier are famous for their
elegance and their finesse.
As reflected by the worldwide recognition these wines routinely
receive, their passion for viticulture and winemaking continues
undiminished in the current generation.
Tasting
Notes: As you would expect
of the Beaujolais cru wines, this wine develops with delightful
fruitiness. The deep, translucent ruby color of this wine hints
at its exceptional character. Rich scents of ripe strawberry
and black cherry are enhanced by nuances of earth, violets, black
pepper and cinnamon spice. The palate is rewarded by layers
of strawberry and cherry backed by elements of vanilla, black pepper
and spice. Long and expressive in the mouth, a simple wine
with great structure. PERFECT!
Food
Pairing: This wine is a very good accompaniment
to any bistro menu, delicatessen meats, poultry, cheeses, and walnuts.
Serve slightly chilled (15 minutes in the refrigerator) to experience
the explosion of fruit and spice.
