Etienne Rodier

2004
Vin de Pays d'Oc

An exceptional grape from the south of France.

The impact of the Mediterranean, forests, lakes and hills on the Sauvignon Blanc grape in this southern location is striking and unmistakable - here it takes on character dominated by citrus and passion fruit.

Cépage: Sauvignon Blanc

About the Producer:   The Rodier Family has long been a well-established family in Dijon.  At the beginning of the 20th century, Etienne Rodier became a wine-merchant. Etienne had a fine palate and developed a highly respected reputation in Burgundy.  He died fairly young and his son, Camille Rodier, who created the famous Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, took over. The wines from Etienne Rodier are famous for their elegance and their finesse.

As reflected by the worldwide recognition these wines routinely receive, their passion for viticulture and winemaking continues undiminished in the current generation.

Tasting Notes:  A bold example of the Sauvignon grape -  tart and refreshing with lovely fruity aromas.    Tart exotic fruits are woven with wildflower nuances.  Clean and pure on the palate it accentuates the ripe citrus fruit with a balanced acid finish. The finish is long with a certain richness - very nice.

Recommended Food Pairings: Alone or as a companion to clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp and freshwater fish, salad, and hard cheeses.
