Falanghina
Beneventano:
Falanghina is a very ancient wine, dating prior to Roman times.
As in ancient times, today its grapes are grown in the southern
Italian region of Campania. The region is renowned for the bay of
Naples, for the former Maritime Republic of Amalfi, and for the
ancient cities of Pompei and Ercolano. The soil in this region is
very rich due to its volcanic origins and grapes grow healthy and
strong in a mild weather, perfect for wine production. The Falanghina
grapes are white and the wine that these grapes produce maintains
its organoleptic characteristics even when the grapevines are cultivated
in different areas. The grapes have been called different names
throughout the centuries: Fallanghina , Uva Falerna , Biancuzita
, Falerno Veronese , Falanghina Verace .
Varietal
:
the
Falanghina grapes are perfectly suited for this part of Italy and
the wine reflects the location and weather more than in any other
type of wine.
About
the Producer :
The Vinicola Tombacco winery originated almost a century ago in
Trebaseleghe, a small village located on the plains bordering the
Po Valley, the Dolomite Alps (Dolomites) and the cities of Venice,
Padua and Treviso: the area had been producing wine for centuries,
but as early as 1919 the Vinicola Tombacco winery realized that
modernization and technology were the key to continued success.
Soon grape growing and winemaking became the main activities of
the winery and through the years the Vinicola Tombacco formed a
special relationship with local grape growers and vintners, which
extended throughout the region and beyond, as the winery's reputation
became its most important asset. As the winery continued to grow
in full adaptation to the new technologies available, it became
a very successful wine bottling company as well. Direct bottling
made quality control and research the focus of the company and the
results are appreciated today by returning customers and new clients
worldwide.
