with energetic vignerons seeking opportunities to distinguish themselves
over their more complacent Bordelais counterparts.
Cépages:
Sauvignon, Semillon, Muscadelle.
About
the Producer: Pierre Charlot oversees a vineyard of
35 hectares that has been in his family since the 17th century.
Since receiving his degree in oenology from Bordeaux, he has focused
much of his time and energy on the vineyard. This vineyard is earning
many accolades in France including recognition of Pierre as one
of the best winemakers in France.
Tasting
Notes: This is a delicious white wine with the body
and richness of Graves at a great price! Prelude Sec is pale in
color with an aromatic nose marked by honey and vanilla; it is a
wine of round, persistent length, very rich. The Sauvignon
Blanc gives it melony fruit, a crisp herbal nuance, and lively acidity.
The Semillon adds hints of peach, pear, and buttery fullness while
the Muscadelle grape contributes exotic floral and spice tones.
The flavors are zesty and exuberant backed by the firm acidity and
freshness of Sauvignon Blanc.
Recommended
Food Pairings: Seafood, fish, and poultry, cheeses.
This is a very versatile wine which complements both simple dinners
of grilled or roasted white meats as well as those served with sauces.
