| Beaujolais
Villages: Here is a Beaujolais of prestige and interest.
This is a medium bodied, rich red originating in the hilly midsection
of the Beaujolais region where the rocky soil provides sufficient
adversity to better structure the resulting grapes. The wines have
a concentrated flavor and structure, and can be allowed to age for
several years.

About
the Producer: Pierre Olivier was the eldest
son of a family whose vineyards had long been established in Burgundy.
Early in his career, he became the cellar master for an important
negociant in Burgundy. During this time, Pierre began to collect
his own stock of premier Crus and unique village
wines. These wines were hidden during and survived World War
II. At the conclusion of the war, Pierre began to sell these
wines to customers and further established his reputation as having
an excellent nose and palate for the selection of outstanding wines.
This tradition, as reflected by the worldwide recognition these
wines routinely receive, the passion for viticulture and winemaking
continues undiminished in the current generation.
Tasting Notes:
Typical of the Beaujolais cru wines, this wine develops with delightful
raspberry fruitiness. Long and expressive in the mouth, a
simple wine with great structure.
Food Pairing:
This wine is a very good accompaniment to any bistro menu, delicatessen
meats, poultry, cheeses, and walnuts. Serve
slightly chilled (15 minutes in the refrigerator) to experience
the explosion of fruit and spice.
